Bonnaroo Music Festival (www.bonnaroo.com)
70 miles south of Nashville, Tennessee, USA
Bonnaroo is an annual music festival that attracts top artists and fans from around the world to the rolling hills of Tennessee.
The festival organizers decided to use Rails in 2007 and they needed a solid and scalable place to deploy their website, which includes various ecommerce features.
We helped the organizers successfully scale through several press appearances and ticket releases. Traffic to the Bonnaroo website reaches high numbers at various times leading up to the event, and we're happy to report that it's been smooth sailing since Bonnaroo started with us.
Confabb (www.confabb.com)
New York, NY, USA
Confabb is the largest database of conferences in the world. Confabb helps you search, track, discuss, and review any conference, speaker, or session.
Confabb co-founder Salim Ismail approached us in late-2006, looking for a fully managed, highly scalable deployment option for Confabb.
We worked with Salim and his team through the early days of development and beta launch, followed by press appearances and stable growth. As of April, 2007, Confabb tracks over 21,000 conferences and events!
Idealab (www.idealab.com)
Pasadena, California, USA
Idealab approached us in early December, 2006, having made the decision to go with Rails for a new idea that was hatching within Idealab.
Their immediate need was for employees, which we addressed through Quality Humans, Inc.
At the same time, they started evaluating options to deploy their app. They looked at Engine Yard and compared to other solutions, including their own great IT infrastructure.
They decided that Engine Yard was the best choice in terms of return on invested time and money.
A few days later, they started development using one of our configurations that includes Staging and Production environments.
Procore (www. procore.com)
Santa Barbara, California, USA
Procore provides a new type of online construction project management software that saves contractors time and money. Procore decided to use Rails in 2007 and developed a fully functional e-commerce tool over the last year. During that process everything was migrated to Engine Yard.
Their knowledge of Rails and their quick responsiveness to our growth and code change has been beyond excellent.
