Customers may provision and decommission compute instances of any type, at any time during the month. Local data storage provided with Amazon Web Services compute instances is not persistent and not backed up by Engine Yard. Database storage is automatically provisioned with persistent volume storage (provided by Amazon EBS storage, backed up to Amazon S3 web storage).
