The Distill Schedule is now live!
Supporting the ideas of talented and innovative individuals has always been a passion of mine. I’m constantly inspired by those pursuing their dreams and accelerating the development of ground-breaking technologies. Indiegogo, the world’s largest crowdfunding platform, empowers individuals to give their ideas a shot, and others to find and fund those new ideas and projects they’re passionate about.
Distill 2014 plans to take the concept of the essence of development and raise the bar. Last year, Distill attendees were treated to a one-of-a-kind experience as the conference brought together innovators in application architecture, user experience, hardware, and all things development in an intimate setting. We also saw talks meant to inspire the creative mind from the likes of Brent and Nolan Bushnell, Michael Lopp, and James Whelton.
Speed. It’s the name of the game in the world of the web. And few people have taken on the problem of improving web performance with as much passion and effectiveness as Steve Souders.
Once upon a time, a cat was just a simple house pet. People might take pictures of their cats and kittens and keep them to themselves or maybe share them with family members.
Unexpected relationships forged on the crush floor at The Winery SF was just one of the indicators of the success of Distill 2013, our first ever developer conference. The talks featured flying robots, the creation of entire movements, and the beauty that comes from working in a world we design.
While we as a community spend time thinking about how to write great code, minimize bugs, determine the right database schema, anticipate platform shifts and more, Michael Lopp is thinking about the mindset of the developers in our community. Michael thinks deeply about the problems developers face in their everyday lives, how to help developers identify their true goals, what makes them happy and how to achieve happiness, how to lead and how to follow and much more. Michael has spoken at every FunConf I have hosted since its inception and has consistently given our attendees a more authentic, meaningful way to think about our lives, what we do and the implications. Michael is one of the great thinkers in our community and we are very pleased to have him be a keynote speaker at Distill. Here’s a little more information on Michael:
