Beau has over thirty five years of experience building, managing and investing in both early stage and Fortune 500 software and hardware companies. Most recently, Beau served as managing director of Vrolyk Ventures, focusing on investments in early stage technology companies, and at Warburg Pincus, as managing director, managing investments in the information technology and telecommunications sectors. Previously he served as CEO of TogetherSoft Corp, CEO of 3ware, Inc., senior vice president of the product group at Silicon Graphics, Inc, and vice president and general manager at Xerox Corp. Beau received his B.A. in Philosophy, with a specialty in symbolic logic, from the California State University at Northridge.
Alan is responsible for the company’s finance, administration, human resources and legal organizations. He has more than twenty five years of financial experience, leading both public and private companies through growth and organizational change. After an extensive banking career at a predecessor of JPMorgan Chase, Alan has been the CFO of four companies, Paragon Trade Brands, Inc., MobileAria, Inc., Axis Systems, Inc and Navis, LLC. Prior to joining Engine Yard, Alan was CFO of Navis, LLC, a private company specializing in software systems for operating large marine terminals and distribution centers throughout the world. Alan holds a B.S./B.A. in finance from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. in finance from New York University.
Paul is responsible for leading the company's engineering organization. Paul has been an innovative product leader in Silicon Valley for over twenty years. Most recently, Paul ran global engineering for the workforce optimization business at NICE systems, after NICE acquired Merced Systems where he ran engineering. Prior to Merced Systems, Paul led engineering at Hyperic, an open source application monitoring company acquired by Spring Source, and Wily Technology, the creator of application performance management for Java, which was acquired by CA. Prior to Wily, Paul was chief information officer of pets.com. Paul has also held engineering roles at HP, Sybase and Scopus Technology early in his career. Paul holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Math from University of California, Davis.
Carl has been developing technology products that customers love for over fifteen years and leads the company's product management team. Prior to joining Engine Yard, Carl worked at two service providers with a focus on delivering cloud services, most recently as senior director of global cloud product management at SunGard Availability Services and as a senior product manager at The Planet (now SoftLayer). Carl also has experience managing enterprise software at Symantec. Carl holds a B.A. in music production and engineering from Berklee College of Music and an M.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin.
